Hope your turkey and dressing needs were sated last week.
Okay, you have been given the information to construct your own novel.
You have the means to start a story, whether it's a novel or screenplay or short story or comic book script.
Start with an idea, create an elevator pitch, tack on an ending.
Expand the pitch and ending into an outline. Make sure one event follows another logically. Don't be afraid to change your ending.
Go through the Lester Dent Master Plot to ensure you have the proper surprises for your reader. You'll also want to look at foreshadowing events in your story.
Now WRITE!
Remember, one of our stated goals, when we began this adventure, was to be PUBLISHED.
To be published, you must be working towards it ... you must be doing something.
Thus ... you must be doing something, WRITE!
It can be for fifteen minutes a day. Or you might want to set a realistic word count or page goal. But do it.
You didn't make your daily goal? So what? At least you did SOMETHING! Figure out what prevented you from reaching your daily goal and make sure it can't happen tomorrow.
If you write 365 days a year (and I think only Stephen King does that), then you can do a novel. That's one novel a year.
If you can write just one novel a year, you are considered PROLIFIC. How's THAT for a compliment?
But you can't get published if you don't put in the work.
So please get busy. I'm pulling for you to make this happen.
